H.B. 85 would ban discrimination based on gender identity and expression in employment. “Gender expression” means all of the external characteristics or behaviors that are socially defined as either masculine or feminine, such as dress, mannerisms, speech patterns, and social interactions. “Gender identity” means a person’s internal, deeply felt sense of being either male or female.
