CaptureA male senior at Azusa High School could take the field this spring as a member of the girls softball team, CIF-Southern Section officials have determined. New rules that went into effect for the beginning of the 2013-2014 sports season state that students can participate in CIF activities “in a manner that is consistent with their gender identity, irrespective of the gender listed on a student’s records.” Patrick Cordova-Goff, the Associated Student Body president and a 2013 homecoming princess, recently participated in tryouts for the girls softball team because he identifies as a girl. It seems he previously identified as gay on his Twitter account.


Transgender student OK to play on Azusa softball team, CIF declares.

CIF declares that Patrick Cordova-Goff, a transgender student at Azusa, is eligible to participate on Aztecs softball team _ Best High School Sports Blog.
