Brendan Eich was recently forced out as CEO of Mozilla for his opposition to gay marriage and because in 2008, he donated a thousand dollars to support Proposition 8, the California ballot measure that sought to ban same-sex marriage.

In Cato Unbound, Peter Thiel, a Gay Billionaire who funded Facebook and co-founded PayPal, came out against democracy and majority rule, and blamed women’s suffrage for ending “freedom.”  He also made a thinly veiled racist statement about welfare beneficiaries.

Thiel wrote:

“The 1920s were the last decade in American history during which one could be genuinely optimistic about politics. Since 1920, the vast increase in welfare beneficiaries and the extension of the franchise to women—two constituencies that are notoriously tough for libertarians—have rendered the notion of ‘capitalist democracy’ into an oxymoron.”

The outcry from the GLBT Community about Thiel’s sexist and racist essay was non-existent.
